I have been busy lately. Other than working my real job at Southern Accounting Systems, my responsibilities and activities include: the Chairman of the Franklin County Industrial Board, a Russellville Volunteer Firefighter, an Emergency Medical Technician, a member of the Franklin County Dive Team, Treasurer for the Franklin County Baptist Association, member of Calvary Baptist Church, involved in Disaster Relief with the Southern Baptist Convention, and overseas mission trips.
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy serving the citizens of Russellville as a Volunteer Firefighter. I went from putting out "political fires" to putting out real ones. We have a great bunch of guys and I appreciate the opportunity to work with them. |

Thanks to G&G Steel for the great job they did in manufacturing and delivering the tower! All of our area fire departments now have access to a great training tool, right here in Franklin County. |

Another endeavor that I have taken on is Disaster Relief with the Southern Baptist Convention. This calling has taken me to serve in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Biloxi, Mississippi, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Also, I went on two different Tsunami Rebuild Mission Trips to Thailand. My two trips to the Phang Na Province, north of Phuket, were life-changing events to say in the least. A team of six of us from Alabama went to Southern Lebanon last November. We made some friends and got to work with many people that had their homes damaged/destroyed during the war between Hezbollah and Israel. I appreciate your prayers for us during that time. Most recently, I went to Laclede County, Missouri with an advance team doing assessments after the ice storms.
